Our 10 Step Auto Repair Process
- Drop off Vehicle for Repair
A service advisor will make sure all paperwork is in order and answer any questions. If you are getting into a rental vehicle, Enterprise will meet you at our shop to complete that process, which takes about 15 minutes. You will need a valid driver’s license and a debit or credit card (even if covered by your insurance) to rent a vehicle.
- Disassembly for Repair
The Repair Planner will assign your vehicle to a technician to disassemble the damaged areas of your vehicle and order parts as needed. Parts are preordered for scheduled appointments, but we will order any additional parts that become apparent upon disassembly. Parts availability may vary per manufacturer, which may cause delay.
- Supplement Request
It is not uncommon to identify more damage during the repair process that may require additional parts and labor that were not included in on the original estimate. This is called a supplement. If any additional damage is identified, Runway Auto will contact the insurance company and call you with a revised delivery date.
- Body Repairs Begin
This is the most time-consuming step. The technician will complete the required repairs per the repair plan.
- Paint process begins
The painter follows a 3-step paint process to ensure a factory finish. We use the factory paint code to mix paint needed for your vehicle to ensure an exact match.
- Vehicle reassembly
The technician will reassemble all parts of the vehicle and review the estimate to make sure all needed repairs were completed correctly.
- Safety Check
The technician will take the vehicle for a test drive if necessary. Specialty mechanical or electrical work will be completed as needed–examples include suspension, air bag service, and resetting electrical components.
- Quality control process
A thorough inspection of all repairs will be completed and your vehicle will be washed and scheduled for delivery.
- Repairs Complete
Runway Auto will call you with a pickup time.
- Delivery
Customer completes inspection upon delivery, pays deductible if owed, and is back on the road.
