Parts delays: Why is it taking so long to fix my car?

Heard about supply chain issues brought on by the pandemic?  A global shortage of vehicle parts is affecting all collision repair shops, including ours

Some parts may come in quickly and others take two months. The kicker is, we don’t know what parts are needed until a vehicle is disassembled. And we don’t learn whether those parts are available—or how long it will take to get them in–until we order them. It’s not a case of one specific part that is always unavailable for a certain make or model.

We always do our best to keep you in your vehicle, or get you back in your vehicle, as quickly and safely as possible. In a couple of cases, we have worked with the insurance company to pay to reassemble the vehicle to put the customer back in their vehicle because parts may be 90 – 120 days out. This can only be done if the vehicle is safe to drive.

If a vehicle is safe to drive, we will order the parts we know we need from a visual external estimate before scheduling the customer for repairs.

Remember: Drivable does not equal safe to drive. A mistake one of our customers made was driving for a couple of weeks after an accident… and there was a transmission leak from the accident. See a professional before continuing to drive following an accident.

We are grateful for your patience, as we do not expect ALL of these industry-wide shortages to end until 2023. You can trust that we will get you back in your vehicle as soon as we can.

Thank you for understanding and your continued support,
